Eggs

All eggs are produced for distribution under the North Forty Farm name. Eggs are sold on a first come, first serve basis through a list. To get added to the list, send us an email with specific information (type, quantity and how often) to arcticrootsfarm@gmail.com.

Chickens

Our chickens are Buff Orpingtons, Austrolorps and mixed breeds. They are allowed to free range in the summer and are maintained in a safe, large open structure with an accessible yard during the winter. They are currently raised for egg production at this time; however, meat birds may be offered in the future, depending on the demand.

Ducks

The ducks on the farm are Indian Runners, Buff Orpingtons and Khaki Campbells. They too are allowed to free range in the summer and are maintained in a safe, large open structure with an accessible yard during the winter. Only a limited number of ducks are over-wintered. They are currently being raised for egg production.

Geese

The geese on the farm are Toulouse. They are also allowed to free range in the summer and are maintained in a safe, large open structure with an accessible yard during the winter. Only about 4 geese are over-wintered every year. They are currently being raised for egg production.

Duck eggs are generally larger with a much thicker yolk and the whites are clear. An excellent ingredient for bakers.
